PERFORMANCE & INTERVENTIONS

I‘m available - Lyon, explores the complex and ambiguous notion of ‘availability‘ in relation to the dating industry. Unravelling a series of interactive and site-responsive performance actions, the artist and her collaborators, art students from the ENBA, Lyon inhabit various public locations throughout the city of Lyon donning t-shirts inscribed with individualised personal advertisements beginning with the generic ‘I‘m available‘ (recto) ‘And you?‘ (verso).

Followed by a cumulative series of conversations, responses, experiences and situations, participating spectators are invited to an ancient bakery at Les Subsistances, in part of the performance festival “Polysonneries ll “ , Lyon.

Taking the form of a catwalk the space is transformed into a lounge like atmosphere, replete with dj, music, sofas and drinks. Each ‘available‘ collaborator eventually takes their turn down the runway, while a live voice over reveals intimate narratives accumulated from the performance interactive experiences. The défilé eventually deconstructs itself fusing the division between spectacle and spectator; whereby visitors are invited to dance and converse in the eventuality and discovery of meeting other like minded few.
