Exploring Metis, the Greek mythological goddess of wisdom, artist Nadine Norman’s interactive web project www.metametis.net presents a contemporary portrayal of her trickster persona in a cross-referencing of fairytales, mangas and myths.
Through the use of multi-media, photography, video, animation and sound, viewers are invited to help evolve Metametis’ transformative powers by submitting their own ideas about her habits, activities and attributes, etc.,
In response, the artist offers contributors an on-line appointment along with a photo, video, sound or text www.metametis.net is both an interactive and accumulative artwork in relation to participants’ propositions in as much as the artists’ interpretations
