PHOTO INSTALLATION
A photo series comprising a collection from polaroids taken from diverse regions in France of “Couronnes funéraire” (funeral wreaths). While mortuary wreaths have been around since Ancient Greece to represent the circle of eternal life; ever since the Victorian era the symbols of flowers (signifying resurrection) prevail. In France ceramic glazed floral wreaths are used to this day whose floral motifs signify various sentiments : Roses : eternal love; Lily : pure soul; Chrysanthemum ; eternal rest, Daisy : profound love, etc…
